13 Years of Marital Bliss!

For 13 years, I have been married to the most wonderful man. It has been a fun and adventurous journey. I can't wait to see what the next 13 years will bring!

I love you Tim!

I wish we were in Cancun right now!

Summer Fun!

I was so freaked out by the start of the school year that I didn't get around to posting about the end of our summer. Tim and I took the kids to Silver Dollar City and White Water in Branson for a few days. It was a great get away, and I am so glad that we did something fun before school started. Life hasn't been quite so care free since! On the way home, we stayed at the lakehouse for a few days and the whole family was there. The kids loved being around the cousins and watching Pops (my dad) ski. Here are a few pics from along the week before D-day (Aug 18th).
BTW... school update: Claire is doing amazing, and is off to a fantastic start. This is such a blessing because her brother, well, not so much! Last Friday when I picked him up at school there was a note on his color sheet that said "work on coloring". I say color sheet, but there was very little color on it. Anyway, I said "Brock, what is this? Cade (a two year old) can color better than this." He looked at me with all seriousness and said "Mom, coloring is a waste of my time." It has gone downhill from there.

1st Day of School

My kids have started school. I can't believe this day got here as fast as it did! I am so proud of both of them because they were amazing this morning! Both of them went to school happy as they could be and even smiled for the camera without too much coaxing. I woke up early this morning to get dressed and ready so they wouldn't be rushed. When I woke them up Brock popped up and got dressed, but Claire, not so much. She wasn't thrilled that we were waking up at the unGodly hour of 7AM! (She is my daughter!) However, once she got going she was happy about going to school. We got out the door at a great time and everything was unhurried and fun for them. I was doing really well until I saw Cortney & Ryan leaving, after that, the water works flowed. We took Claire to her class first and got her settled which was easy. Then we started down the hall to kindergarten. I told Tim I felt like I was marching to my execution. My heart was in my throat and I felt like grabbing my baby and running out the door, but we marched on. When we went by Reids classroom we stopped and took a picture with him, and after that Brock was ready to go. He went into the class, put his things where they were supposed to go, and sat down to read a book. He looked like he had been there before....(for two years). Mrs. Cunningham was doing a great job with all the parents, and like I had instructed her Friday, she didn't acknowledge me and my drama. The only bad news of the day was that Claire's stomach started feeling bad and I had to go get her at lunch. She is feeling as she says "Not a 100%", but should be better by tomorrow. When I was walking in to get her Brock and Reid were at recess and so I got to see them. They were having a ball! Brock ran to give me a hug and I could tell that he was having a wonderful day. I asked him how his day was going and he said "This is Great!" and his eyes were dancing. I am so thankful that my kids adjust so easily to new situations and for such a fantastic place to take them for school. I know they are in fantastic hands for their education, but man if my house isn't quiet. I may be in the minority, but I sure love hearing their little voices around me. I guess I will be glad to see the first vacation day come so I can have my chicks back in the nest! Anyway, you didn't come to read me prattle on, here are the pictures. Thanks for your prayers! I pray you all had a good enough day too.

UPDATE ON CAPTAIN KINDERGARTEN

Brock absolutely loved his first day. He said that it was awesome. He is also reporting that he has a new girlfriend named Hailey who is very cute and he gets to sit beside her. I, of course, called to check this chick out, and got good news. Apparently she is a very well behaved little girl. Yeah, not going for the bad girl type right now!

Claire seems to be feeling better and is ready to give 2nd grade a 2nd try.

School is coming...

I just wanted to post and say that I need your prayers. My kids start school on Monday and for the first time in 8 years, I will be alone full time. I will be the first to admit that my kids can absolutely drive me nuts, but boy do I enjoy them. I love hearing them talk to each other when they don't know I am listening. I love their giggles at something that I would have missed without their notice. I love watching them soak in the world around them, good or bad. I love their questions and conversations with me. I just love having them with me. Of course I am sad that Claire will be going, but this is the first time Brock will be gone full time, and I am struggling! Please pray that God will give me a peace that I don't have right now. I know that Brock will be great, and Claire just loves school, so they are fine. But my role is changing dramatically, and I am not that happy about it. Pray that I will adjust quickly. Love you friends!
